Easy Start Overall Health Program - (Under Construction)

This is a workout program modified to be a quick and easy start to a new and healthy lifestyle. This workout program combines both Spiritual and Physical health into one. This program is designed to be just the beginning. Once completed, you are encouraged to try more in depth workout programs.

This program is for people who are new to working out. Modifications for each exercise will be available on the exercise description. This is to allow to turn the intensity up or down to best suite  your current level of fitness.

Bible Verses

Each week there will be two memory verses to go along with a Spiritual Topic. The first week's topic is Faith. As you do each exercise repeat a part of the memory verse and as you complete your workout repeat the entire verse to yourself. It might help to have the verse written down in front of you as you work out. On your rest days, be sure to repeat your memory verses in their entirety at least 10 times.

Exercises

The exercises for this work out program can all be done in your own home. Some work outs may require the use of furniture. A pull up bar that can be installed in a door way is highly recommended. For each exercise do as many as you can for 30 seconds. Click on the exercise to see a description.

Cardio exercises can be jogging, swimming, or an exercise video.

Modification:  You can increase the intensity of the entire workout by lengthening the time you spend on each exercise. For example, instead of 30 seconds, do 45 or 60 seconds. Another option is to repeat the workout more than once a day.

Diet

Since the purpose of this work out program is to keep things simple, the diet is not in detail. However, we do recognize that what you eat is an important aspect of physical and mental health. There are a few key aspects that are recommended during this workout program:
  • Fresh fruits and veggies: Be sure to include at least one serving of fresh fruits and veggies with your meal.
  • Portions: There is a tendency for people to over/under eat. When serving your meal, only serve a handful of each food item. Wait 30 minutes. If you are still hungry, serve yourself another handful.
  • Water: Drink 8 glasses of water a day. Space it out throughout the day.
  • Wait: Wait at least 30 minutes after your meal before doing any exercise.

About the Program

This program was created after several months of spiritual search and a desire to combine spiritual health with physical health. The workout comes from Arnold: The Education of a Bodybuilder and the inspiration for the Spiritual aspect comes from the Bible as well as from The Power of Positive Thinking.
